Our client is seeking a Technical Business Analyst to join their team in Los Angeles, CA!
Responsibilities:
- Lead the elicitation of technical business requirements gathering through interviews, workshops, and collaborative sessions with internal stakeholders (across front/middle/back-office) and external technology vendors.
- Solution design and validation while working with IT architects, developers, and third-party vendors to translate business requirements into technical specifications and ensure alignment with the firm's IT strategy.
- Analyze and document the integration of various enterprise systems (data warehouse, financial reporting, portfolio management systems) and provide recommendations for technical improvements.
- Map, review, and optimize business processes in relation to technical solutions, identifying areas for automation and efficiency. This includes recognizing patterns and conceptualizing processes.
- Communicate effectively with both business and technical stakeholders, ensuring clear understanding of requirements, timelines, and deliverables.
- Identify, create, and facilitate process design changes by conducting complex business and systems process analysis and design, focusing on quality improvement and data management to ensure data reliability and validity.
- Develop process improvements or re-engineering strategies, recommend eliminations where necessary, integrate new systems and processes with existing ones, and partner with internal clients and vendors to ensure systems provided align with long-term business strategies.
- Develop comprehensive documentation, including process flows, data models, use cases, technical requirements, and user stories, ensuring clarity for development teams and stakeholders.
- Collaborate closely with developers to implement the requirements, develop test plans, conduct user acceptance testing (UAT), and provide necessary guidance to testers during QA process.
- Stay current with needs and strategies; utilizing formal and informal written communication methods (for example, emails, PowerPoint presentations, executive updates, task lists, updates) to communicate updates and findings; and facilitating project meetings and presentations to all types of diverse audiences (for example, senior management, Customers, technical staff).
- Lead or participate in multiple projects by completing and updating project documentation; managing project scope; adjusting schedules when necessary; determining daily priorities; ensuring efficient and on-time delivery of project tasks and milestones; following proper escalation paths; and managing client and vendor relationships.
- Analyze and evaluate business requirements, consulting with personnel from various departments to identify opportunities for developing technical solutions that automate and improve business processes. Balances the requirements and needs of multiple departments/divisions to identify the best technical solutions. Participates in developing strategic plans for systems and application.
Qualifications:
- 6 - 10 years of experience in a technology-oriented environment; ideally in a private equity, financial services, or investment management environment (is a plus!).
- Experience in software development lifecycles (Agile, Waterfall), project management, and working with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in business analysis tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, MS Visio, Excel), database/querying tools (e.g., SQL), and PowerBi for data visualization.
- Strong background in technology solutions, data architecture, and systems integration, with a deep understanding of private equity operations and workflows.
- Strong knowledge of enterprise-level applications (e.g., CRM systems, portfolio management tools, financial reporting systems).
- Familiarity with cloud technologies, data warehousing, and API integration.
- Ability to dissect complex technical and business problems, providing detailed analyses and actionable recommendations (proactive and reactive).
- Must have experience working on large scale projects as well as handling and prioritizing day-to-day operational requests from various stakeholders.
- Strong project management, ability to successfully manage multiple tasks at any given point, strong relationship building skills & communication skills.
- Understanding of indices, fundamentals and analytical data, returns level data etc.
- Strong ability to adapt to new tools and processes as part of continuous improvement.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; able to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders at all levels ranging from C-level executives to operational analysts.
- Excellent organization and documentations skills, with the ability to design and facilitate a group process, elicit contributions, stimulate.
- Successful track record in understanding and negotiating needs and expectations of multiple stakeholders.
